How long a swap takes
Most swaps finish within a few minutes to about half an hour. The time depends mostly on how fast the network you send on confirms deposits.
Updated
A swap has three parts: your deposit confirms on its network, we check and price it, and we send the payout. The checks and pricing usually take seconds. The two network steps take most of the time.
Usual times per network
The table shows how many confirmations we wait for on each network, and the usual time a swap spends on that network.
| Network | Coins | Confirmations | Usual time |

For a whole swap, add the time for the network you send on to the time for the network you receive on. Each pair page shows the total, for example Bitcoin to Ether.
What can make it take longer
- A busy network or a low fee. A transaction sent with a low network fee can wait a long time for its first confirmation. The status page shows networks that are slow or paused.
- A review. If our checks flag a deposit, a person decides within 48 hours. See why a swap is held for review.
- An identity check, if the swap is above the limit for your country. See identity checks.
- A large payout. Payouts worth more than $5,000 wait for an operator to release them, which can take up to an hour.
- Topping up our wallet. If we hold too little of the coin you receive, we move funds from storage first. This usually takes a few minutes.
- A failed payout. If a network does not accept our payment to you, our team checks it and sends it again or refunds you. Nothing is lost.
- Missing prices. We never price a deposit without reliable live prices. If they are missing for more than 30 minutes, we either refund the deposit or hand it to a person, who decides by the review deadline.
Your order page updates on its own as each step happens, so there is no need to refresh it.
