Terms of service
Draft of 15 October 2026
Draft for legal review
1. Who provides the service
The service is operated by Plaxswap (“we”). The legal entity, its registered address and the country whose law applies will be added here after legal review. You can reach us at [email protected].
2. What the service does
We exchange one cryptocurrency for another. You choose the coins, tell us the address that should receive the new coin, and send your coins to a one-time deposit address we give you. When your deposit is confirmed and has passed our checks, we send the new coin to your address. We do not hold an account for you and we do not keep your coins after a swap is complete.
3. Who can use it
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement.
- You must not be in a country where we do not offer the service. The current list is in the compliance policy.
- You must not be named on a sanctions list, or act for someone who is.
- You must use the service for yourself, with your own funds, unless you are a partner using our API under a separate agreement.
4. Rates, fees and amounts
Before you send anything, we show the exchange rate, our fee (the spread, built into the rate) and the network fees for collecting your deposit and sending your payout. The network fees we charge are today's fees plus a small safety margin, and the amount you receive already has them taken off. The current fees are on the fees page.
- Variable rate: the rate is set when your deposit is confirmed. The amount shown beforehand is an estimate.
- Fixed rate: the amount you receive is guaranteed if you send exactly the quoted amount before the order expires.
- Each pair has a minimum and a maximum amount, shown before you start and on your order page.
5. What you are responsible for
- Giving a correct payout address for the network you chose, and the memo or tag if the receiving account needs one.
- Sending the right coin, on the right network, to the deposit address on your order page, before it expires.
- Including the deposit memo when your order shows one.
- Keeping the order link, and the order key stored in your browser, private.
Blockchain transactions cannot be reversed. We cannot recover coins sent to a wrong address or on a wrong network.
6. Deposits we cannot exchange
If a deposit is below the minimum, above the maximum, not the exact amount of a fixed-rate order, arrives after the order has expired or been cancelled, or arrives while a coin is paused, we do not exchange it. We return it to your refund address, minus the network fees. Unless we caused the refund (for example by pausing a coin), we also keep the handling fee published on the fees page. If the amount is smaller than the network fees, it cannot be returned.
7. Compliance checks
We check addresses against sanctions lists and screen every deposit for links to crime. Depending on your country and the amount, we may ask you to verify your identity, or for the name of the account holder when you send to an exchange. We may hold a deposit for review. The order page shows the deadline for our decision. If we cannot complete the swap, we refund the deposit, unless the law requires us to keep holding it, for example after a sanctions match. Details are in the compliance policy.
8. Things you must not do
- Use the service with funds from crime, or to hide where funds came from.
- Get around country rules or limits, for example with a VPN or by splitting swaps.
- Give false information during identity verification.
- Interfere with the service or try to access parts of it you are not allowed to use.
9. Availability
We may pause a coin, a network or the whole service, for example during network problems or maintenance. The status page shows what is affected. Paused swaps continue or are refunded once possible.
10. Liability
To be completed after legal review. The draft intent: we are responsible for completing or refunding swaps as described here, and not for losses caused by mistakes in the addresses you give us, by network failures outside our control, or by price movements on variable-rate swaps.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version that applies to a swap is the one shown when you created it. The date at the top shows the latest change.
