Memos, tags and comments
Some networks use one shared address plus a short code to tell customers apart. Leaving the code out can make your coins hard or impossible to trace.

On a few networks, services give many customers the same address and tell them apart with a short extra value. Each network has its own name for it:
- TON (USDT, GRAM): Comment
- XRP Ledger (XRP): Destination tag
- Stellar (XLM): Memo
- Cosmos Hub (ATOM): Memo
When you send a deposit to us
On these networks your order shows a deposit address and a memo. Many orders can share the address: the memo is what links the coins to your order. Always include it, exactly as shown.

When you receive coins from us
If your payout address belongs to an exchange, the exchange probably needs a memo or tag too. Enter it in the memo field under the payout address. The swap form shows that field only for networks that use one and checks its format: a destination tag on the XRP Ledger, for example, must be a whole number.
Personal wallets usually do not need a memo. If you are not sure, check the deposit page of the service you are sending to.
